It’s safe to say that at the House of the Seasons, we pay a lot of attention to the seasonal changes, and while every seasons is special in it’s own way, I just adore autumn. In Jefferson, summer temperatures are not just hot, they’re scorching, and while my luxurious fur coat keeps me warm in the winter months, it’s a real curse in summer. I just can’t abide the heat! Once autumn rolls around, I pounce on the chance to get back to my true duty: patrolling the yard. Shirley let’s me out early, and I usually start by exploring the perimeter to make sure everything is as it should be.
Once I’ve secured the perimeter, I try to get to higher vantage points. I find that elevated perches give me a better view of what’s happening down below.
My other favorite spot is right by the door. I call this spot my guard spot, and I sit there proudly letting visitors know I’m keeping them safe and secure.
I can usually be found on duty patrolling the yard until 3PM at which point I find a place to curl up inside the house and reward myself with a nice long nap. Guarding the House of the Seasons is important work, but I still need my beauty sleep!
